This is a photograph of Bill Brandt, a famous mid 20th century photographer. He was photographed by Roger George Clark, another esteemed photographer from the same time period. Bill, the subject of the picture, "is considered to be one of the most important British photographers of the 20th century"(http://www.billbrandt.com/)

Photographers I like

Darcy Bacha
He generally shoots action sports such as snowboarding, skiing, and skateboarding at Mt. Hood, but he also does some work with landscapes and models.

Michael Anderson
Michael has many spectacular photos of landscapes that leave you in awe. Absolutely stunning pictures.

Vincent Favre
He really knows how to manipulate light in his favor. This allows for photos that leave you staring at the screen.

Framing

Portrait Format,  a guy at the farmers market with an epic mustache. I chose this picture because it really shows the heart of Portland, wrapped up into one person.

Background Elements, a bird perched on top of a bare tree. I chose this picture because the negative space really brings out the silhouette of the tree and the bird.

Close up, I chose this picture of a piece of paper on fire because it incites questions and wonder. The colors are interesting, and fire in itself is an interesting thing.
